LISTEN | Rich Aucoin Drops New Dance Tune Titled "The Middle"
Halifax has a musical gem, and it's Rich Aucoin.
The dance wunderkind, just recently dropped a new tune titled "The Middle" and we can't get enough. The tune was originally recorded and then has to be re-created from memory after pieces were lost from when Rich Aucoin got his computer stolen from him.
The song is built upon vocal samples from Aucoin and also Vogue Dots’ Babette Hayward and is produced by Aucoin and Joel Waddell and mixed by Howie Beck (Charlotte Day Wilson/River Tiber). The song features the bass playing of Holy Fuck’s Matt McQuaid and drums of Taylor Knox as well as a reed section of Saxophones and Bassoon.
It’s about the self reflection one experiences at the perceived midpoint of life and the request to take a moment to pause and take it all in before hurrying down the hill to our deaths.
Halifax's dance wunderkind, Rich Aucoin, will play a handful of small shows in February before the launch of his new record. Expect a sweaty video dance party with all the usual tricks and an added bonus - a pile of new songs - his best dance songs to date.
