The Total And Definitive Guide To Vintage Shopping On Montreal's St. Laurent Street
We all love a good trip to Value Village or The Salvation Army, but the clutter and sifting of endless racks doesn't always deliver the goods. Sometimes all I want is a clean space to do the curating for me - here's to doing exactly that, and only having one street to hit.
1. Ruse Boutique - 5141 St Laurent Blvd
This list was actually inspired by my love for this shop. Vetements, 3.1 Philip Lim, Marni, Missoni, Versace, Yohji Yamamoto, Acne Studios, Fendi, Dolce and Gabbana, Hermès - they have it all. Ruse is cute and affordable, the staff is great and there's a friendly teacup chihuahua named Kenzo. I mean.
FYI it's a consignment shop, so you can also bring in your gently used/stylish clothing, get it appraised and let them sell it for you! You get that money. Follow them on Instagram.
2. Le Magasin du Chaînon - 4375 St Laurent Blvd
Ok so you'll have to do a bit of searching here - but there's more gold than Fort Knox. I found a pair of 400$ Marc Jacobs pants for 9,99$. Need I say more?
3. KILOfripe - 3800 St Laurent Blvd
I have a soft spot for this shop because it's the heavenly place where I found my absolute favourite pair of shoes - yellow python boots from the 1970's. I'm getting choked up just thinking about them sitting in my closet. Their vintage shoe selection is next level, and the space is pretty big so you've got your work cut out for you. Happy hunting.
4. EVA B - 2015 St Laurent Blvd
If you've been to this store before but not in the last year or so, FORGET EVERYTHING YOU'VE SEEN. Not only did they completely redesign the entire inside of the building, but they cleaned the (literal) shit out of the place. EVA B is brand new and you're going to love what you see. Heads up, give yourself at least a few hours to scour this maze of a store, and if you get hungry there's a café inside.
5. Citizen Vintage - 5330 St Laurent Blvd
So this shop is a little pricier, but finding something great is guaranteed. Also, you gotta love a vintage store that doesn't smell like old.
