For the past year, Montreal has been consistent with the amount of quality trap getting dropped and Havok Highway really keeps the stream going. Da-P has somehow managed to make head-bobbing songs you can ride while also maintaining a feel that's appropriate for the bedroom.

Listen here:

The 5-track EP starts with "Tortoise", a mix of cloud trap and skillfully sampled video game sounds enveloped in soothing synths. "A1 Credit" has a more street feel to it with banging 808s and chopped up vocals, definitely one to blast in the whip. "DopeDopeDope" is the single that brought it all together, it was dropped over a month ago and contains distorted vocals from Future's Move That Dope with some heavy bass and hard-hitting snares. The fourth track, "Nesu" features fellow local producer High Klassified in a mash-up of wavy synths, cloudy drums and the signature HK hi-hats. Last but not least, the title track "Havok" closes the tape out with some moody sound design that eases you in slowly before breaking down with some vicious drums, a build-up technique Da-P is more than familiar with.

Her old...
