Riggadale is a Toronto-based producer and artist who makes great music with an emotional twist. He dubs himself as  "your favourite sad elephant tamer's favourite sad elephant tamer", and we couldn't agree more? We asked him to put together a mix for our Podcast series featuring some of his favourite remixes and some unreleased tracks, and he delivered.

The 18th edition of the IX Podcast is now available via iTunesSoundcloud and Mixcloud. Tracklist after the jump!

IX: Who is Riggadale?

He's stuck making weird beats all day because everything else seems like a waste of time now.

IX: When did you start making music?

I started making beats for a rap group I was part of around 2005, I loved sampling violins.

IX: Did you have any musical background before getting into producing?

None whatsoever, But I  feel the lack of training gives me an original production style but definitely slows me down a bit in the studio.

IX: What artists have had an influence on your music?

I grew up loving underground hip hop producers like Hi-tek, Stoupe, and Pete Rock, but now my main influences are the the producer friends  I work with or around, Hunter Siegel, Memorecks and Zeds Dead.

IX: What are the type of people that you imagine listen to your music?

They wear ballcaps, long tshirts and tight pants.

IX: What is the big plan for the next year?

Not leaving the Studio for more than a few minutes at a time. Been writing songs with some talented singers recently, so until they're all done, while everyone else is enjoying the new summer, I'll be inside working on my studio tan.
