IX Podcast 26: RSVPjo
We definitely think RSVPjo might be the new king of the underground realm.
The young emerging producer and sound engineer has been featured on IX Daily numerous times before today, including when he dropped a 6-track mixtape titled Stone Cold featuring underground music from Montreal and its surroundings. Based in Real City, RSVPjo has an ear for mostly unknown underground music coming out of the woodworks and he knows how to curate it into a body of work that is cohesive and enticing to listen to. We asked him to put together a dope mix for our Podcast series and he delivered: a one hour trap infused mix, perfect way to get your neck to break. Roll yourself up a fatty, sit back and click play on this one, you will get the vibes we're talking about as soon as the intro kicks straight to the end. Packed with pure heat and some unreleased gems, you will want to bump this and share it all around.
Who is RSVPjo ?
A 22 years old audio engineer/producer
When did you start spinning/producing music?
I started spinning music with friends for fun 4yr ago we bought a Traktor s4 and totally abused of it. We threw some parties in which we were DJ-ing and we seriously had a blast doing those. From there I was more curious about the producing side of the music. I then went to Musitechnic, graduated two years ago and became an audio engineer. I still have many things to learn and that’s what i like in music. Now I do my own producing, mixing, mastering and I am also offering recording/mixing services at my own studio.
Did you have any musical background before getting into the producing scene?
I could say that i kind of have a musical background, I used to play violin, piano and guitar at school but I wasn’t really open mind to learn music at school at that time when I was a kid.
What artists have had an influence on what you do?
I listened to a lot of music especially on Soundcloud so I discovered a bunch of new music that I wasn’t aware of. I think that every track leads and helps me in my creative process.
What is one of your most memorable moments in your career up to now?
I could name a few but the most recent one was when i did my launch party for my ep ‘STONED COLD’ last May in my hometown with all my friends it was a crazy happening
What is the big plan for the next year?
Most of all I wanna do more DJ-ing and improve my producing and engineering skills.
