Amber Rose On Women Empowerment: Being A Bad B*tch

You guys may have seen the video of Amber Rose crying on stage talking about Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa after the SlutWalk. If not, well here it is:

Now, I know some of you don't even know what the Amber Rose SlutWalk is all about. It all started in Toronto after a police officer told a group of college girls that if they wanted to avoid sexual assault, they shouldn't be dressing like sluts. That event started a movement against sexual injustice, victim blaming, derogatory labeling and gender inequality. Amber Rose, who is, like so many other women on this planet, a victim of slut shaming, decided to create the Amber Rose SlutWalk in LA. She wanted the voice of marginalized groups such as women of color, transgenders and sex workers to be heard. The SlutWalk was also an inaugural event for the Amber Rose Foundation for Women Empowerment

As you may have guessed, the event was a subject of controversy. Some people think that the image Amber Rose displays on social medias is not appropriate and young girls should never take her as a role model. In other words posting pictures of her ass and boobs on Instagram is like selling her body. Some other people think that she is promoting one night stands and whorism. Some medias even said that she is just doing the SlutWalk to help promote her book How To Be A Bad Bitch that is set to be published this month.

Opinions people have on Amber Rose and her SlutWalk are proving that this walk was necessary. Why is it that we have to judge a woman for the choices she makes? The SlutWalk is a fight to change society's perspective on women. It shouldn't matter how you dress, what you do for a living, how drunk you were that night, whether you're black, white, asian, gay, transgender, rich or poor. No one has the right to take control over your body, over your life. Slut shaming is a thing and we have to stop acting like it's not. Every woman should have the right to do whatever she wants with her body without people making her feel embarrassed by her actions. Whether it's having thousands of piercings and tattoos or sleeping with thousands of men. Even though some people think Amber Rose's SlutWalk is shady, let's admit that she is trying her best to make people understand how important it is for women to own their body and have power over their life. A man will sleep with thousands of girls or be a stripper and will never be judge. So if we really want women to stop being slut shamed, it all starts by gender equality. And as long as society doesn't understand that, there always will be a police officer suggesting women to wear "decent clothes" so they don't get raped...
