Southern Pride: The Front's Documentary On Queer Youth
USA's deep south is synonymous with quite a few things: Southern belles, taxidermy, voodoo, the KKK, delicious food, racism, segregation, and everything else nice.
Not known for their tolerance, the inhabitants of these conservative and rather unique states have their own perception of right and wrong when it comes to practically anything especially when this tired and old formula is concerned: a man is a man and a woman is a woman, period. God Bless.
A new documentary show by The Front (a new media company by women) - directed and produced by Rosie Haber and with fellow producer and cinematographer Cioffi - titled New Deep South is bound to change the opinions you might have formed over the years about one of the most elusive and patriarchal geographical areas in North America.
Jackson, Mississippi and the Delta area are the first locations to be explored in this eye-opening depiction of the struggle and hardships young people have to face as the odd ducks surrounded by conservatism and stagnation.
