The Story that Exposed Miley Cyrus Being Hacked by Her Own Fans
Let's talk about the stan craze on Twitter for a bit. You probably haven't heard of this phenomenon if you aren't active on Twitter. Based on the central character in the Eminem song of the same name, a stan is an overzealous maniacal fan for any celebrity or athlete. This term is overly used on Twitter for fans that support the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga and Beyonce amongst others. Let's get shit straight. These kids are more than just fans. They tweet, retweet, and even trend #hashtags at the click of the fingers. They fight against other groups of stans, it's a whole entire thing. It's a thing.
These self-proclaimed stans are probably the most influential part of a modern-day celebrity's life in today's culture. The internet is a deep, dark world full of things you would never expect stumbling upon, but this shit is gold. It's the kind of story that resembles the Bling Ring, a group of seven teenagers from California who robbed the homes of several celebrities over a period of a year, except this time it's going on behind computers. The glorifying of celebrity-obsessed culture is more than alive when you can access all types of information, just by becoming the ultimate stan.
Creepy stalkers and spies so pathetic— DIANEMARTEL (@DIANEMARTELOFF) June 20, 2014
I clearly did not know how many Tumblr pages geared towards "leaking" gossip and information about these celebrities existed. To my utter-surprise there are many of those out there, and these kids get the information through obtaining login information to these celebrity's iCloud accounts. I found out about this on Twitter. I so happen to be following a girl that goes by the handle MuneralsFab who was retweeting a lot of thing that showed up on my timeline and seemed to be trending for a couple of hours. I decided to read through it and found out that she had posted a story about her experience dealing with Miley Cyrus and her fans, as one of those stans who had access to all the information. I immediately clicked on her profile and scrolled 3 hours worth of tweets down to where she had a link to her Tumblr page that hosted her story. Before I knew it, I ended up deeeeep inside a blackhole that took me to an interesting world of modern-day URL fuckery that is happening under our nose.
Before you all start, I would just like to say read the title carefully. The use of the word “my” is crucial to this story. Everything I’ve experienced this year was based on what I have seen and learned and done for Miley Cyrus. I’m not here to deter you away from her. I’m simply doing what I feel is best for a bunch of teenagers and young adults who depended on a pop star for happiness at some point in their life. I’m doing this because 1) it is not fair for me to have this all on my conscious and 2) I’m tired of staying quiet and this seems to be the only thing that’ll work. -MuneraMiley
That was the opening line of an EXTREMELY LONG piece describing what seemed to be a crew of self-entitled hackers who have access to all types of information about these celebrities, like real-time email conversations, and photo streams containing over 20,000 pictures. Basically every time Miley Cyrus took a picture with her iPhone, they had it too, within a mere 30 seconds. Don't get me wrong, we're not talking about A-class hackers here. We're talking about kids who, by luck, got access to personal information and used it for their own gains as stans.
Each login had a description, a website link, user and password. I started off with the top first checking through if all of them were real. I entered Tish’s, Cheyne’s, Miley’s etc. work email. Then I entered mileycyrus.com. Then I entered Brian Bowen’s website containing outtakes of Miley and so on. The last log in was confusing to me I didn’t know what me.com was and had to google it. When I realized it was iCloud I copy and pasted Tish’s info and logged in. In front of me was Tish’s email, phone contacts, notes etc. I started off looking at her phone contacts. From Nick Jonas to Britney Spears I was shocked she was exposing so many celebrities. Once I finished looking through the phone contacts I looked at her email. -MuneraMiley
Although these kids have access to all types of information that they can use to completely demolish a celebrity's career, they blatantly choose not to. They do it to boost their egos by hosting celebrity Tumblr stan pages where they answers gossip questions through the "Ask Me" feature. They also do it to feel closer to the celebrity, to feel like they mean something to them, which I think is even more messed up. Who wouldn't sell leaked photos and info to TMZ to make a couple of bucks? Seriously.
If you have the time and patience to read through MuneralFab's story, do it. She has screenshots of Miley Cyrus' mom's iCloud account, and a couple of other pictures and details that will leave you wanting to know more. Although I was expecting more juice out of this long-ass story, I think it's safe to say that this whole shabang might eventually be exposed sooner than later.
...I just want to know who Miley is fucking in that rumoured sex tape these kids found.
