WATCH | Toronto's Munroe Releases Cinematic Video for “Fake Out”
Toronto-based Munroe has released a cinematic new video to accompany track “Fake Out” from the artist’s recent full length release Oblivion. Directed by American artist, writer, and filmmaker, Laura Maxwell, the visual is a music video meets short film that tells the story of a young woman escaping life in the landscape of a small North American factory town.
“Fake Out” represents an examination of the female self and the many facets of female identity.
It is also the director’s personal ode to mortality, loss, and the many regenerations of self we experience in our lifetime.
