Under the Radar: Get Familiar with Indie-Synth Pop Band LANY
Nashville's up and coming band LANY is taking music and acronyms to a whole other level. LANY, a Los Angeles x New York collaboration, is still very much under the radar and have only released 4 songs so far. The trio made up of Leslie Priest, Paul Klein, and Jake Goss combine indie synth, retro-pop, and r&b to create dreamy romantic hits.
Their most recent song “ILYSB” stands for “I Love You So Bad” and it’s definitely their best song yet. Leslie Priest classifies their style as “somewhere between pop and r&b, and maybe sprinkle in some nostalgia.” This song and “BRB” (Be Right Back) seem to be the romantic acronym theme they are gearing towards and it’s definitely working.
LANY’s unique song titles mimic the band’s mysterious identities in which barely any information about the band members are given. They have a strong minimalistic band image, similar to the likes of The 1975 or The Neighbourhood. Not much is known about the dreamy romantic band, but we don’t mind as long as they continue to create killer soothing tracks.
And if you want more, two of the members Jake and Leslie released music as the band WRLDS last year.
